Suspected Disability or New Diagnosis

How can you get help at school for your child who has (or may have) a disability or medical condition?

Our district has a special education Parent Mentor & Resource Coordinator, Mandy Friend, who can walk you through the process.

The links in IEP and 504 Plan Resources explain the options for getting accommodations and/or special education services (including what "IEPs", "504 Plans", "accommodations", and "special education" are!).

This roadmap from the State of Ohio Department of Education lays out the steps for working with the school district (in a clickable PDF file):

New to Sycamore

Families new to the district: welcome! You may be wondering how to transfer accommodations and/or an Individualized Education Program (IEP) from another school district.

Sycamore has a special education Parent Mentor & Resource Coordinator, Mandy Friend, who can walk you through the process and advise on your specific situation.

For more general information about how things work at Sycamore, contact our Sycamore Ambassadors. They can explain general procedures and events at each school in the district. They can also provide information to help you get settled in our community.
